Producer/Production Stage Manager

Corporate Events
Since 1988, I’ve produced and stage managed corporate events full time for all of the major production companies in the corporate event field. Recent  years were filled by eBay, Verizon, the LA Car Show, Seacret, Mary Kay, Google, John Deere, Goddard Schools, Covidien, Bard, Novartis and  a couple of pizza shows, among other things.
As a producer and as a stage manager, I’ve met and mastered my share of turn-tables, elevators, Kabukis, revolving fashion models, cars and horses, and LED screens; and know my way around gear and union labor, as well as international travel; Asia, Europe, Latin America. I read music, my mantra is ‘calm’ (which is very helpful with today's build-the-show-as-we-go trend), and I become emotionally invested in every show I produce or call.

History
I experienced an auspicious beginning with the Lake Placid Olympic Organizing Committee, where I migrated from Program Planning and Control, through Communications, and, finally, to the Division of Protocol as progress on The Games and several World Cup events developed.  I was involved in uniform design, environmental control, timing systems, communications on the mountains, accreditation, and ceremonies & awards, etc.
When the Olympics were over, I served as Executive Director at the North Country Chapter of the American Red Cross.  My primary function was to coordinate blood drives, multiple classes; and disaster relief after a sub-zero fire in a residential hotel.
Seattle was my location for the 80s.  Theatre and film were booming at this time, and I was fortunate enough to work in every production and performance capacity before settling into stage managing in 1983.  I soon acquired my Equity card at the Willamette Repertory Theatre, in Portland, OR, and went on to stage manage in every theatre of every kind in Seattle. I was also the stage manager for the Opera House, Arena and Memorial Stadium for 18 Bumbershoot and 21 Folk Life Festivals while in the Northwest. Eventually, I took up film and video, working my way up from grip, through the art department, and eventually to Production Manager and Assistant Director; from local commercials to major features.
A road tour for Holland America Westours introduced me to Audio Visual in 1988, and I’ve seldom looked back.  I relocated to Phoenix and went to work immediately. Twenty-eight years later, I still love this business and value every day that I’m lucky enough to work in it.
